Today I’m grateful that:
I have such a thoughtful friend (shout out, Rachael!) who appreciates the intent of my blog and gave me a wonderful gift, the book “Simple Abundance - A Daybook of Comfort and Joy” by Sarah Ban Breathnach.
My last name is not Ban Breathnach. Capellman is hard for people to pronounce and spell properly, but I’ll take it over Ban Breathnach. Or is it just me?

Today I’m grateful that:
I have a dad with, among other things, a great sense of humor, many a story to tell, and good taste in music.
My dad introduced me to Bruce Springsteen at a very young age. Today I gave him Bruce’s “The Seeger Sessions” as a Father’s Day gift, and I love that he will appreciate it as much as I did.
My dad sacrificed so much for me and my siblings over the years. I appreciate this more as time goes on. When he was my age, he was the lone source of income for four kids. I can’t really relate, but I can certainly appreciate.

Today I’m grateful that:
My best friend has a cousin with season tickest to the Sox who rarely uses them. Nothing like free, good tickets to Fenway! And thanks to Papi for the home run!
The cabbie didn’t ram into the rickshaws in front of as we (jokingly) suggested.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey provided 10 minutes of some of the most quality trashy reality television ever. Thanks to Teresa for the table-flip heard round the world, haha.

Today I’m grateful that:
I once printed all of the email exchanges between my younger sister Heather and myself from the last two years of college, and gave them to her in three scrapbook-type “volumes” as a keepsake. We spent hours this weekend reading them back and forth to each other. I haven’t laughed that hard in ages! So much has changed … and so much has not changed at all.
My sister Heather now lives close enough to drive up for a weekend visit.
I had such good girlfriends in college who remain good friends, and are just the most generous and fun girls to be around. I’m also grateful that one of them now lives in the same city as my sister, and the others are willing to travel to that city (special shout-out to Simone for providing the mode of transportation, reading materials, nutritional sustenance and, as always, good conversation during the traveling portion of the weekend).

Today I’m grateful for:
One of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a very long time for providing me endless ridiculous and obscene laughs. Already seen The Hangover twice, and would totally go see it again. Can they put a rush on DVD production?
